Vision of Fellowship of Grace

Fellowship of Grace is a congregation in the Presbyterian Church in America raised up by God to glorify Himself through ministry of the Reformed faith in the Northwest Valley.  In order to expand God’s kingdom and stand firm against the devil we will encourage and equip each person to:

  • Know God intimately
  • Love one another as Christ has commanded us
  • Bring the gospel as the means of salvation for those who are perishing and as the means of righteousness where sin prevails in our culture
  • Fulfill God’s ministry for his/her own life

We at Fellowship of Grace are thankful to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and the greater northwest part of the Valley of the Sun.  As part of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) – one of the fastest growing denominations in the U.S. – we are committed to the Bible as God’s Word and the fundamentals of the Christian faith as expressed in the historic Reformation creed: The Westminster Confession of Faith.

We also solidly endorse by word and deed the PCA Vision 2000 which follows.  Men of faith and leadership to the entire body of Christ such as Francis Schaeffer, D. James Kennedy, and R.C. Sproul have made the PCA their church home. It is our pleasure to serve the Lord with them.

Fellowship of Grace is a church family sensing the value of intimacy in relationships in the midst of a hurting culture and broken homes. We are seeking to bear one another’s burdens as we reach out together to others with the good news of Jesus Christ.

PCA Vision 2000

As one communion in the worldwide church, the Presbyterian Church in America exists to glorify God by extending the kingdom of Jesus Christ over all individual lives and through all areas of society and in all nations and cultures. To accomplish this end the PCA aims to fill the world with churches that are continually growing in vital worship, in theological depth, in true fellowship, in assertive evangelism, and in deeds of compassion.

The distinctiveness of the PCA lies in our stress on both reformation and revival. Without an emphasis on revival, “reformation” may become either a mimicking of political ideologies or sterile doctrinalism.  Without an emphasis on reformation, “revival” may become a shallow pietism or mysticism.  Only reformation and revival together can accomplish the Great Commission of our Lord.

  • We are committed  to the Scriptures and the historic Westminster Standards based firmly on a biblical theology that answers the questions of each culture and people to which we minister.
  • We are committed  to worship that practices the presence and power of God within the church to the transformation of the surrounding culture through biblical application in population centers around the world.
  • We are committed  to the winning of new converts and their incorporation into the church through the ministry of the Word and to significant ministry to the needy through deeds of mercy and service.
  • We are committed  to the freedom of every member to minister through spiritual gifts and also to the responsibility to do so under spiritual authority and loving discipline.
  • We are committed  to dynamic, prophetic confrontation on non-Christian thought forms and behavior and also to the demonstration of the truth through the practice of holiness and love in Christian fellowship.
  • We are committed  to guarding and strengthening the biblical family and also to the broken family forms such as the divorced, the widowed, and the unwed parent.
  • We are committed  to teaching and discipling men and women in the whole counsel of God and also to ministering to the needs of the whole person.

True to the Scriptures, the reformed faith, and obedient to the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.

Purpose of Fellowship of Grace

To Glorify God by

  • Assembling for worship of God through hymns, praises, prayer, scriptural instruction, and partaking of the sacraments (Acts 2:42).
  • Bringing everything into subjection to Christ by applying the love and justice of God to the structures of society (Micah 6:8; Genesis 1:28; Matt. 5:13-16).

To Edify the Believer by

  • Strengthening the body of Christ spiritually though instruction in the Word of God and mutual encouragement (Ephesians 4:12,13).
  • Serving the physical needs of the body of Christ (James 2, Gal. 6:10).

To Testify to the World by

  • Sharing the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ with unbelieving people both near and far (Matt. 28:19; Acts 1:8).
  • Serving the physical needs of those outside the body of Christ (Isaiah 58:7; Matt. 25:31-46).
