Missionary Safety

Please note that for the safety of missionaries in countries hostile to the gospel, missionary names and details may be somewhat vague on this page.

Missions: Reaching the Lost

The following are the six missionary families our congregation presently supports. They are our “feet and mouths” to spread the gospel of Christ in areas that most of us will never live. We encourage your family to “adopt a missionary” and correspond with them.  All of them have email which makes communication with them convenient.

1. Mrs. Harriet Butler (Navajos)
Harriet works on the Navajo Nation at Crystal Bible Church about ten minutes from Window Rock. Until his death, her husband Will did a lot of writing for theological education by extension as well as teaching and preaching. Since his death, Harriet has continued to work primarily with the women and youth at Crystal Bible Church. Even though of retirement age, she leads Bible studies and does personal discipling and counseling.   [More Information & Photos]

2. Lee, Emma, and family (Reaching out to North Africans)

Lee and Emma are reaching out to North Africans in France and in the 5 countries of North Africa.  Lee oversees a number of Christian workers in North Africa, helping them to get the training that they need and to find an effective ministry context.  He also helps them with pastoral and missions issues as they arise.  Emma is ministering to women in difficulty in a center in France, as well as organizing Bible studies and conferences for North African Christians.

3. Dan and Becky Young and family (Mission to the World – Mexico Border Ministry)
The Youngs are leaders in the Border ministry in Juarez, Mexico / El Paso, Texas. They planted a growing church in Juarez, and now Dan serves with the Border Evangelism and Mercy Ministry team in the capacity of teacher and discipler. During the summer they help summer mission programs with SIMA, the short-term missions arm of Mission to the World.

4. Pastor Bob-Gad-Kalyowa and the Luwero Presbyterian Church
(Luwero, Uganda, East Africa)
Pastor Bob-Gad-Kalyowa serves our sister church in Luwero, a small trading center, 40 miles north of Kampala, the capital of Uganda.  He also works part time for Africa Christian Training Ministries.  Through regular email we keep in touch and pray for one another’s needs. It was the privilege of Fellowship of Grace to take from the first fruits of their building fund to supply the materials needed for LPC to build their present church in 2000. Pastor Bill then took his 3rd trip to Uganda in the fall of 2000 and spoke at the dedication of their new facility.  [More Information & Photos]

5. Parker Tenent (Reformed University Fellowship Campus Minister, UofA, Tucson, Arizona)
Parker has the challenge of advancing the great commission on the University of Arizona campus. He leads large and small groups as well as participating in conferences, counseling, and individual discipling.
